Need help with idea for script

Hi gurus.
I want ask question about idea for writing script.
Suppose I have alert file (Oracle RDBMS) and I need check it for errors included into it.
This is need to cycled, I mean need keep line last checked and go forward (end).
If need additional information I will supply it asap.

Sounds like an idea, what have you done to make it a reality?
