Need help in writing device driver
 

Hi! This is eshwar.
Can anybody tell me the way of finding out a device or port address,
When we connect it to linux running pc directly.
I have seen so many routines (device drivers) which we can use in device driver programming needs the address of that device. But no API is there to find out the addres of a device.
Please help me.
