Need help finding linux equivalent to windows API functions: SHBrowseForFolder....etc

I use the following Windows API functions when developing for Windows:

LPITEMIDLIST SHBrowseForFolder( LPBROWSEINFO lpbi);
This displays a dialog box enabling the user to select a Shell folder.

BOOL GetOpenFileName(LPOPENFILENAME lpofn);
The GetOpenFileName function creates an Open dialog boxthat lets the user specify the drive, directory, and thename of a file or
set of files to open.

BOOL GetSaveFileName( LPOPENFILENAME lpofn);
The GetSaveFileName function creates a Save dialog box that lets the
_user specify the drive, directory, and name of a file to save.

Does anyone know what equivalent functions are available for Linux and what library are they in?

Both gtk+ (the user interface toolkit used in Gnome applications) and QT (for KDE apps) provide this functionality. GtkFileChooserDialog provides a dialog box for opening or saving files in gtk+, as an example.
