MySQL server connection problem

Hi

I have MySQL running on a Red Hat 7.2 system. It has been working no probs till now. When I load up a PHP file I get the following message:
Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'
I have tried starting/stopping mysqld, but still get the same error.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Ashley

A google search with that error message gave me results I didn't expect. It lets you know that a good number of people use mysql. Funny...

Searching the mysql support pages, I found this link.
