I am taking a class in C programing the semester and will be required to turn in exe's as well as source files, and would like to be able to just make the exe in linux and test it in wine, to avoid rebooting my computer for something that I know can be done on linux. I went and installed mingw32 and found a little primer on how to use it, saying basically to use the same commands as would be used for gcc, so i did -lm for the math.h, and told it to look to the folder ~/egr115/include for the include headers. I get the following output:
Code:
[scott@mckay32-119 egr115]$ i586-mingw32msvc-gcc -o test.exe program_chapter1_1.c -I ./include/ -lm
/tmp/ccM0Zo0v.s: Assembler messages:

/tmp/ccM0Zo0v.s:3: Fatal error: unrecognized .section attribute: want a,w,x,M,S,G,T
I googled the error message and found severael references to it but no solutions, and the one reference here i could find was solved by the poster, and the solution kept secret...
Its probably something horribly easy, but i dont know what it is, any help would be appreciated, and yes, it compiles fine with gcc.
Thanks,
