MimeMessage ID Java

Hi there,

I would like from anyone being familiar with the JavaMail to tell me how the MimeMessage id is set, the one that will be obtained if we use the command:

Quote:
MimeMessage.getMessageID();
Thank you.

im not at all familiar with the class, however, as with everything in java, i refer to the java docs. a quick search shows that the "setHeader" method can be used to do this. see http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/FAQ.html#msgid and http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/ap...va.lang.String). you may have to make a subclass and override the given method, see the first link about those details.

nadroj,

Many thanks for your reply. You are really helpful. I want to ask you one thing that I noticed. There is no updateMessageID method in MimeMessage to be overwritten. Does the author of the FAQ wanted to mean the updateHeaders method?

Thanks.

As nadroj has pointed out - MimeMessage.updateMessageID() is your friend
