Arrow Making the arrow keys of the keyboard show history of <STDIN> perl

Hi, I have a question, there is a global variable or global string that contains the history of <STDIN>? I were making a program that needed a lot of inputs and i thought that making a history that could be revised with the arrow keys just like bash could be a good add-on, but i never tried something like that and i don't know how to start. Maybe writing all inputs in a file and then with the arrow keys retrieve in inverse order the words (first the last and etc)? How are configured the arrows? Thanks in advance!
