make install-devel missing target for iptables

Hi All,

I'm trying to get the iptables shared libs installed properly so I can develop based on the libiptc functions.

All the documentation I can find referencing libiptc seems to be well out of date now and is of little use.

Any pointers in the right direction very welcome.

Thanks
Anubis.

The library is part of iptables, so to get what you need for development should be just:

Code:
apt-get source iptables

Hi Smallpond,

Thanks for the reply.

I do already have the source for iptables; but in following through the old documentation at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Querying-libip...O/install.html is says to "make install-devel" which is after "make install".

I'm assuming the "install-devel" does some extra installations which includes shared files for development as currently when I call my test program I get warnings that 'libiptc' cannot be found.

Thanks
Anubis.
