Lua and Java...
Hi gang!

Okay, so, it's sunday nite, I'm due at work within eight hours, and I had plenty of time to think (not good for the population around me :D ) and I was wondering if there's a way for scriptlets to be used in a Java Applet. I've stumbled accross Lua, but did not find a Lua interpreter for Java on Oracle's site...but, I may not have looked in the right place :)

So, any Lua/Java possibilities?

Thanks for the feedback, and you know, any feedback (real, zany, weird, funny,...) is welcome!

LuaJ seems to be the most Google-able. Have you seen that yet?

But there's probably something similar in a bunch of other scripting languages:

Or JavaScript would be a very natural choice, there are many projects to run javascript from java. For example Rhino ( Actually, Java 6 has native support for this , I believe.

In fact...

Actually, Java 6 has native support for this , I believe.
...this could be an option: something (more) native...

I did find luaj...but as a "plan-B" because it's a third party thing...
Lua was/is a choice because it seems pretty simple to learn/implement, so my (end) users could script their needs themselves. In hindsight...I'll have to look into security...I dont want to end up like the "other one" where a simple script could lead to a world-wide virus... :D
