Looking for Shaped Window Tutorial

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out how to make a shaped window (one thats not rectangular), but I can't seem to find anything good on google. I want to be able to make windows like noatun (basically not like a circle or any primitive). Its just going to be an image, so no widgets or anything on this window.

Does anyone know any places with good tutorials on doing this? Preferably X11, Qt/KDE, or GTK+, but i'll take anything you might have.

you want to google something like "non rectangular frame" for your preferred language. There seems to be quite a few for java for eg. Particularily with applet skins.

Anyway, that should point you in the right direction.
Happy hunting
