LIRC-Compilation

Hello,
I downloaded lirc-0.6.6. I am using redhat linux 7.2 kernel version 2.4.18-14. I have the following problems with lirc.
I used the command ./setup.sh. A LIRC configuration appears.
In the driver configuration I choose
Driver for the hardware as Home-brew (16x50 UART compatible serial port).
predefined I/O base address/ IRQ combination as
1 COM1 (0x3f8, 4)
driver specific options as
2 software generated carrier

In the software configuration I choose
1 compile tools for xwindows
2 compile with DEBUG code

Then I choose save configuration & run configure
the output is as follows:

I already have the precompiled linux kernel. I didnot build it. How to solve this problem?
