Linker issues and make

Hello. Make keeps complaining about not being able to find some functions while building my code. If I compile with gcc, everything works just fine, but trying to let make run the same command produces all kinds of linker errors. I am not in the lab right now so I can't post the exact output I get. No one I have talked to can find a reason for this error.

thanks in advance

Can't say anything without a Makefile, the working command, and the error message.
