LILO source code

Hello. Haven't installed linux yet. Anyway, Is the source code for LILO available? Is there a GUI for it yet? If possible, I would like to put a GUI cover over it. You know, make it look 'pretty'. Is it part of the GPL? I think it is, but am not too sure. Thanks.

hey... let me know if you manage to get a project started. i've been looking for another program to get into (aka: resume' padding ;)) - the guys over at enlightenment don't seem to appreciate my patches :)

i just checked my installation packages, and the source to lilo is included with my suse... i don't know the version right off, but i can't seem to find much about versions doing a quick net search.

Yeah, I will. Think it can be done with TCL/TK? Or should I start on C++? Either way, it WILL be done. Unfortunately, there are not too many people around my area that even know what Linux is, let alone people who would want to do make a project out of it! The person that I know But, you never know. The people at the college might want to do it. Anyway, it will be a while. I'll probably go with c++ in doing it. It'll be a few months before I have the knowledge. Looking foward to it, though.

Do you intend to just add a gui front end to create and maintain the lilo.conf file?

Colonel Panic 07-21-2001 06:57 PM

Yeah. Don't really want to rewrite LILO, or anything like that. Just want to make a cover. Kind of like putting a cover on a bare circuit board. Just want to make it look good. Kind of like GRUB, except alot nicer.
