kernel version mismatch

Hi,
I m compiling one module for mizi Linux using cross-arm tool chain provided by them only.
Now when i m inserting this module using insmod, it gives me error that kernel version is not same as module compiled for..
How to get rid of this error?
What are the ways so that this error doesn't get generated?
and if I have only .o file... Is there any option with insmod which I can apply? I have already tried insmod -f xyz.o, but this is not working.

this problem could only be solved by
installing the kernel version the module requires
Forcing insmod to load a module would probably not work either.
So either download the module matching your kernel version or
install the kernel matching the module

How do I do so? I am writing a module and i don't know how its version is decided? May be, on the basis of compiler which I am using.
But, anyhow how wud I know which version of module my kernel requires? Any command?Or you plz talk in more detail.

How about using modinfo (and reading the man page first)
