Javascript dragging image

Hi all,

Im really new to JavaScript and Ive read a few tutorial but I was unable to find out if it’s possible to move an image on a webpage by dragging it.

To be clear, Im looking for functionality similar to a window where I could move stuff around just by dragging it....

Would appreciate any help...

Javascript: AFAIK: No.

Java: definitely "yes", if you're willing to write an applet (and deal with the limitations of applets).

I've heard some very interesting things about "Ajax". It might be an ideal solution for you:

So I read that ajax is used in gmail and google map, could it also be used for the context draggin when you log in to www.google.com/ig ?? I would love to do something similar to that on a website I'm doing. If anyone know how they might have done this could they direct me to information please? I would appreciate it.
