DX has some meaning of having much performances (a quick lookup at wikipedia would give more infos)

I'm sorry, I don't understand this thread at all. Why are you typing on a computer when you should be using an abacus and/or some Napier's bones and a look-up table. They work just fine for mathematics why do you need a computer?
No to mention electricity? Why are you using electricity when fire works just as well?

I don't need Wikipedia for that.

The D is Double. As in Double Precision. Meaning 32-bit.

It was much faster than the SX. The price was not that much more. DX was a overall good price-performance.

I believe that on the DX, one could run already good games.
