Kylix is dead. Borland hasn't updated it for 2 years now. BuilderX is supposed to be the real thing when it becomes like the other Borland products (i.e. RAD development and their wonderful GUI designers). But thats' not ready yet under Linux. A preview is available, so it won't be long.
KDevelop 3.0 is wounderful.. together with QTDesigner its "ok" for creating GUI.
I found KDevelop being abit unstable tho, but maybe thats becouse I did run an Zero release, Im sure they patch it. One problem I had was it was abit hard to get rid of classes I didnt want anymore, and you can get some strange errors when trying to do a "distclean". If they clear it out, its going to be a wounderful development environment.. for C++, C, and Java.

yes... it uses some kind of wine emulation.... to run your programs... that means
that you have to distribute a lot... a lot.... a lot more... of files... plus wine has to be
install so your programs can run.... thats the only drawback.... everything else is
good... btw, i'm moving to C++... thats my next challenge!!
i want to learn C++ for the good of humanity!!!
download a free trial for kylix... from borland.com so you can taste it!!
btw, i really recommend BuilderX just like deanbrown3d said... i haven't
play with it, but looks promising!!
worldmagic: Kdevelop... yes! its a good tool... but if you are a GNOME freak
just like me... FreakboY! (LOL, LOL) then choose anjunta... btw, before learning
to program with QT read the Licences agreements!! they are not programmers
friendly!!
** sorry for the late reply but hey... i'm a poor guy... don't have money for dial-up **
