Is it impossible to make games in linux with C++???

I keep searching for a way to make games in linux using C++ but with no luck.

I keep finding some tools for making games but all of them have very little documentation on how to use the tool.

I would really hate to have to boot back into windows every time I want to make a game.

They have python with pygame where you can EASILY make games but python is much slower then C++ and I really don't like the way the code looks.

There is a lot of info here: http://lgdc.sunsite.dk/

The short answer is . . . yes. You can develop games for Linux using C or C++.

Most would use the SDL libraries (which, I believe, includes an API into OpenGL), but you don't have to by any means.

What sort of tools are you used to using in Windows which you are seeking equivalents to?

The main thing to remember, when designing and building a game, is that you don't have to "start from scratch." And therefore, you shouldn't. Take full advantage of the work of "those who have torn-out their hair follicles before you!"

One beautiful thing about C / C++ . . .

You don't have to limit your reusing of code to Linux apps. Anything for Windows that does not use Windows-only APIs will work. And, heck, those that do can be ported . . .still easier than working from scratch.
