Question Ioctl Help


well m a newbie to ioctl....i looked up everywhere for ioctl tutorials in the web but cudn't find wat i want...can somebody explain me wid a help of a sample program on how to write values n get values from devices using ioctl system calls.....lets say i want to retrieve the ip and mac address of my ethernet interface and as well change my ip address using Ioctl...any help will be greatly appreciated
