radhapriya,
I'm not sure what problem you are having, could you elaborate more? Are you unable to use LILO.
I would highly recommend reading the LILO README file . It describes the disk layout used by PC's. Also read the <kernel src>/Documentation/i386/boot.txt for a description of how linux boots (the bzImage boots itself off a floppy). You might not need LILO at all. There are several books available about "arcane" PC knowledge, unfortunately my mind is blank on what the good ones are. There are many websites available that describe this processes. Try googling.
Basically, the standard PC BIOS loads the first sector off the boot device (floppy, hard drive, etc..), makes sure it is a valid boot sector (called the MBR on the hard drive.). If it is valid, the BIOS jumps to the code. LILO includes this code. If your BIOS implements int 13 ( I think, it's been a long time since I needed this), you should be able to install lilo on the hard drive, just like normal.
Hope that helps,
chris
