Question iframe woes

How can I setup a link on my website so that when clicked the link opens in an iframe that I can position with my css script?

I currently have a site which has a banner_image, navbar, main_text and footer. I control all the layout via a css script. I want to add two more links to my navbar and when clicked I want the iframe to open on top of the main_text section.

You can see the site here: WI2P2 Airport Weather

I had did some research and read about using js and iframes with name's and id's. Can an iframe be assigned a class also?
