Hi,
I want to make a search engine like google.Can neone suggest me some sites
relating to search engine basics or any projects already done??
I want to understand some sourcecodes of search engines and then want to make my
search engine.

All Suggestions are welcome.

you will need to study the principles of "Information Retrieval" ... a lot of preprocessing need to be done before your search engine can be built ... u need to remove "stop words" (you can google to find a list of stop words), need to stem the words (there are readymade stemmers available), create inverted page tables ... a word to page mapping (one to many) .... i have not created a search engine but will be doing so in the next few months ... hope this helps
