I Kindly need some linux scripting project advice
 

Hi everyone?I am in my final year of a Computer science degree.I kindly need you to suggest to me a linux system administration based programming project that i can do.I would like to do it most probably in bash or another scripting language e.g python or perl.Also if anyone knows of a website that can help me make this decision I would highly appreciate.thank you

You are asking LQ to supply you with ideas for what basically is homework. You don't supply any information except it must be "GNU/Linux system administration based programming". LQ is a friendly community and we are definately willing to help you. But asking overly broad questions or asking LQ to perform your task for you without you putting in any effort yourself will not help you in the end. Maybe start by thinking about what aspects of "GNU/Linux system administration based programming" interest you, look at current developments and start a thread brainstorming about that instead.

mosesmungai, instead of starting a new project from scratch, I recommend contributing to an existing project - perhaps adding a plugin to webmin for some specific task or similar.

• You won't have to spend a lot of time writing the basics of some admin product, so you can get deeper into a smaller scope of functionality.
• You have the chance to add something nice to an existing project.
• You can learn how to interact with other project members, and also write that up. it gives you something extra to talk about if the technical side of the project isn't such a success for whatever reason.
• You can get support and suggestions from other project members. How much you get is going to be related to how much you put in - it's a positive feedback mechanism to keep you working on the project.
