If you want to install cygwin on Windows, you could probably use it to build pdftotext, and from that, extract the text from your PDF file(s).

You certainly jump around in your line of questions...

I am very confused on your answer PSM, are you using the if statements to look in the next file? Because if that is the case, I would have to know how many files are in the folder. I want this to work no matter how many files are in the folder. I'm just not following your method. Maybe you could explain what function your using in the if statements. Thanks...I am still trying to learn how this "For Each" loop works. Sorry if I sound like an idiot.

I guess I am jumping around a bit, I have rewritten the script many different times and every time I seem to have a new questions. Sorry

Try using Basic subroutines and functions - you'll like them

offerd15 -

Your "for each" loop is only going to give you a file at a time - nothing changes that.

I was suggesting breaking some of your code out into separate Basic functions. For example, you might want a function like "OpenFileAsExcel". It would take the current file Object as an input parameter, give you an Excel object as an output parameter, and return TRUE if it succeeded, else FALSE if it failed (for example, if the file in question wasn't an Excel spreadsheet).

'Hope that helps .. PSM
