how to refer to environment variables in an ant file

hi,

How can I refer to an environment variable in an ant build.xml file, say I want to use a path defined in a environment variable called CPATH

I use:

srcdir=$CPATH or "${CPATH}" or "$CPATH", none of them works.

Code:
<property environment="env"/>
...
<echo>CPATH=${env.CPATH}</echo>
