How-To: Open New Screen in Fedora Linux using X-Server?

HI! Im new here. I recently seen a real cool video game open a screen with its own resolution, even on exit the screen resolution stayed the same altering the desktop configuration! Haha.

Neat!

Hows it done?

You can change resolution from the command line with xrandr. This program calls functions in the Xrandr library.

wow neato!

Can I see an example code snippet using the library so I can use it in my own scripts?

EDIT:

Sorry, I've just woken up. I mean, how do I open a custom SCREEN (similar to a full screen window but more of a screen with direct writing ability with cairo or something similar?)

it sounds like it is a OLD SDL game like "lbreakeout"

For that game it is a bug in the OLD and unsupported code

OLD? It was a 2D Platformer. So, yeah, maybe old?

Also, I got the game from the Fedora repos.

Hi John, I'd have to travel to the bottom of town to find out. And, quite frankly, I am not willing to do that right now.
