How to Encrypt <STDIN> in PERL 5.8


Hi Guys.

I am using FC4 with PERL 5.8,

may i know how to encrypt a <STDIN>, so that when user type a password, it will not be shown on e screen......?

Example:: There is a passwd prompt, "ENTER PASSWD:" (its only shows "*****") or nothing at all..........

pls advise......
