How to enable console_print() to print to console?

Hi,

I am trying to call console_print() in order to print messages to the console. However, the messages only go to the dmesg output, but not to the screen.

I am running Suse 9.3 (Linux 2.6).

I don't have a syslogd, sysklogd, klogd, or /etc/syslog.conf file. These have been recommended to me through some notes, but I don't find these commands or files in Linux 2.6.

Does anyone know what steps are needed to enable the logging, so that console_print() will automatically go to the screen?

Thanks, Patrick//
