Question how to dive into the kernel ?

Hi,
I want to write an application program in which i want to select i file and then set a bit of it's inode.
How can i do it?
Actually my question is, that how can i use or call and send parameters to the modules i have dynamically loaded into the kernel?
Or do i have to write a new system call for this? Then , where to write it?
Can anyone pleeeeese help me as to how to dive into the kernel through an application program ?
Thank you.
