how to create a Virtual Printer?
as I am reading ... in linux ... everything is a file ... even a printer ... well I would like to know where are the files associated to my printers in linux ????
where or how can i get a list of my printers installed ???? how can i create a virtual printer, something like PDFcreator does on windows. what i mean , is how to create a logic printer, a printer that doesnt exist really, its only for software purpose. how can i create this virtual printer , and what are the next steps in order to use it . for example: I want to create a virtual printer , and when i open a file in open office, and want to print it with this virtual printer , instead of printing in paper, i would like to dump this open office file in a TEXT OLNY file. can i do this ? |
I don't know about a text only file. (Unless you mean a postscript file), but you can install a PDF printer. Depending on your distribution, you should have a package called cups-pdf or something like that.
