how to compile a prolog program

Hi All,
I have this program written in prolog to make DNA triplexes but i haven't been able to copile it as of yet. I've tried reading the how to but i can't seem to get the comands that compiles the program. For some reason the extension of the file is .plg as opposed to .pl whic i assume is the norm. I have limited experience with C and i have downloaded the SWI prolog compiler for windows and i have the GNU prolog compiler for linux. ANY help at all will be appreciated as to how i go about getting this program to run.

Cheers,
Randall
