how to build a rtp stream

Hi,
I wrote a c program that captures Ehthernet packets and filter RTP packets based on the packet header, now i need to test my program to check if it detects RTP packets correctly or not, i need some program that streams RTP packets, i tried gnump3 for audio streaming but it uses TCP packets not (udp/rtp), also i wanted to use VLC player but it doen't run on ubuntu i get errors running vlc.
I'm using ubuntu on vmware and XP as host, i'm running and testing the prgram on ubuntu and want to stream data to XP

Thanks for your helps

Most SIP phones like Ekiga, Linphone or Twinkle will use RTP for the audio.

non asterisk rtp

thanks for your help but i dont want to use asterisk, i think there should be a simpler way to do this, even a website that that streams rtp packets is sufficient for me but i couldn't find anything in google

Who said anything about Asterisk? You can use a SIP phone without a PBX - you just open two instances (if you're using two instances on the same computer, make sure they're set-up to use different ports) and point them at each other.
