How to achieve the IPC between the UML and the host

I try a lot of way ,but it looks like all failed.
The amount of the datas that are transfered between the precess is large.
I know that the uml can mount the host file.Is that the only way?
I read a article that describe a mode called "iomem".
who knows that and have some expriences ?Please show some small examples that base on it.
Thanks a lot !!!

But UML behaves like a seperate (though virtual) system, so I guess IPC either doesn't work, or requires special measures.

Using a filesystem pipe (fifo) or filesystem socket on the host's filesystem should work I guess.
I don't know about "iomem" though.
