By reading a good book and doing exercises it proposes...
The bible is "The C programming language" by Kernighan and Ritchie... But maybe another book is more adapted for C learning?

Have a look at the following:

C basics:

And why do you think programming, especially in "C", should be easy ?

Well, as I don't think that you can learn C both easily and well, my answer to the first question that you ask has got to be 'badly'.

This is a correct answer to the question that you asked, but is probably not what you wanted to know and this, overall, doen't seem like a good thing to me, but your mileage will probably vary.

The next, and more definable, problem seems not to be about using C, but about using gcc. The traditional place to start, in using linux facilities is from the man page. What went wrong when you tried that?
(although, I'll admit that one of anishakaul's links probably presents an easier learning curve to you.)

So are you now saying that you just want to change how your system behaves, you don't know whether you even need to do something in C to get to what you want (for most people most of the time, they don't), but you thought that you'd distract us with these questions about C, just in case? And you couldn't be bothered to search on anything at all?
