How can I access parallel port through C in Linux ?

I have just turned towards Linux and hence using its environment...I used to send values to the parallel port by import () and outport() functions in TurboC, but how can i access it here ?
How can I find the address of my parallel port, is there any way from which I can determine this ?

You can use outb, inb and simplar functions (try: man outb). If you can simply open the port device, you can use simple read and write. The method depends on the thing you want to do, however.
