help with script

Hi,

I'm looking for help with the following:

We make use of codes for the useraccount at my work. For example Joe Doe have the useraccount of abc12345. We have an Excell CSV file which holds all useraccount-codes and real-names.

With lmstat (FLEXLM utility) we get output of the licenses use for a certain license. The output of this lmstat does not gives us the real-names but the useraccount-codes (abc12345).

Now i need some help how to convert the useraccount-codes of the lmstat output to real-names with help of the Excell csv file and output this to a new file (text).

Thanks in advance

Can you provide some real example of the CSV file and of the output of lmstat? What have you tried so far?

Your excel sheet could be parsed using the Perl module Spreadsheet::ParseExcel::Simple. Looking up the user id from the name or vice versa should then be no problem, and there's no need to even export as CSV - if your excel sheet is visible from your *nix box (e.g. samba mounted if it is on your windows network), then you can read it directly.
