Smile Help for C++ programming using Geany

hi all,
i am really new to Linux. im using Ubuntu Ultimate 8.10.
i wish to continue using linux instead of windows. i found substitute for almost everything. the normal way of compiling in linux as described in your post is hard for me. i installed 'Geany', it sure does looks good. can you help me in how to use it?. it sure is not the way we use turbo c++ compiler 4.5 rt?. so please help me out

Hi, geany is convenient but a bit limited. For example, you need to compile things from the command line once you throw in some header files (unless you write a makefile). I guess the best thing you can do is read the gcc manual to learn about the various command line options; it will also help with troubleshooting programming errors.
