Header files define the interfaces (ie. functions, classes, etc) that a library supports, but typically do not offer the implementation of these interfaces (the exception is when using C++ templates). So, don't confuse a header file with the actual library that contains the code implementation.

You will need to inform Eclipse that it needs to link your application to the Poco library; you may even need to tell Eclipse where to find the library. A shared-object library has a .so file name extension, and a static library has a .a file name extension. Which library to use should be considered carefully.
