GTK+ Error: -lgtk-x11-2.0 not found

Hello,

I am learning a little GTK+ programming, or trying to at least. I am working through a tutorial on their website. I'm trying to compile the upgraded hello world program using this command. I am then getting the following error:

Code:

gcc: -lgtk-x11-2.0: No such file or directory

I thought I had everything installed, but I may not. I did a search for 'lgtk-x11' with no results. I'm sure this is a trivial answer for the veteran GTK+ developer, but I am very new, so any help would be appreciated.

Here is some information about my system to help:
Compaq Presario M2105US
Xubuntu 6.06 (x86)
Uname -a output: Linux MarXubuntu 2.6.15-25-386 #1 PREEMPT Wed Jun 14 11:25:49 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

Bump. Me, too. wxPython is the one looking for it in my case, and it's not here.
