When I type (gpg with no arguments the screen returns
(gpg: Go ahead and type your message ...) I do not know how to stop the stdin from the key board. A control +c will return (gpg: Interrupt caught ... exiting. Does anyone know how to exit and save the input as as a file?

According to Wikipedia, the end of file shortcut for cmd.exe is Ctrl+Z. In Linux terminals you would normally press Ctrl+D to signal an end of file.
