Good language to progress from Java

At the moment, I am learning how to code in java in school right now. It is the only language I know so far. I am going to be progressing in java after this semester as it very popular in the job field for many companies. However, next semester I want to work on another program in addition to java so I don't have to rely on java for all my programming needs. So my question is, what is a good language to progress to. Should I stick with a OOP language such as C++ or python or should I learn something like C (non OOP)?

Take a look at the Tiobe Index:
Code:
   Top Programming Languages
          (long-term)

Language 2010 2005 1995 1985
-------- ---- ---- ---- ----
Java 1 1 6 -
C 2 2 1 1
C++           3     3     2    10
PHP 4 4 - -
(VB)Basic 5 6 3 4
C# 6 7 - -
Python 7 8 17 -
Objective-C 8 44 - -
Perl 9 5 4 -
Ruby 10 24 - -
Lisp 13 14 8 2
Ada 17 16 11 3
Quote:
Currently Objective-C is far ahead with +2.54%. Runner-ups so far are Python (+0.96%) and C# (+0.55%).
And don't forget about things like Flash, Javascript, CSS and HTML. Which may or may not meet everybody's definition of "languages" (depending on the context) - but are definitely things worth learning about.

One final suggestion:

'Hope that helps!
