we really can't teach you how to use an entire applicaiton, that's really not reasonable... your best bet si to check the respective documentation http://glade.gnome.org/ or one of numerous tutorials you can find via google.

That narrows it right down to the specific problem you're having. Why not read the documentation that comes with Glade and work some examples? If you have specific questions, then feel free to post them. Your question is too nebulous.

you're quoting yourself? impressive... glade's XML abstraction is really nice and clever, well worth using for that alone if you're new to it.

There's even a program called gtkdialog(>=0.58.8) which will let you draw interfaces directly with an XML file. The output can be used within a script for quite advanced functionality. (Puppy Linux makes extensive use of gtkdialog). I sure wish it would work without gtk2...

I wish gtkdialog would work with GTK-1.2 is what I meant.
Zenity is a replacement for the dialog program. There are/have been several programs called gtkdialog which used command-line options to create modal dialogs. The version I refer to went a little furrther by using xml files as input.
