getting the return value from a thread start function

hai ,
I want to get the data returned from a thread start function for further processing. Can anybody give me the method for doing so?
Is it the return value of the pthread_create() function?

thanks and regards
cynthia

pthread_join is retrieving the return status of your thread, should it returns.
