gcc error

while giving ./configure i got this error

checking MACHDEP... linux2
checking EXTRAPLATDIR...
checking for --without-gcc... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name...
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

We need more details, like the program, OS, distro, system specs, that kind of thing. Also, you're probably in the wrong forum.

Also, do what it says. Take a look at config.log.

Are you building from a user-mounted location (such as a flash drive) that wasn't mounted by root?
