Filesystem path completion in IRB?

When the completion module is loaded in IRB, method and object names are autocompleted. However, there seems to be no functionality for completing the names of filesystem paths or executables. Is there a currently maintained gem that provides such functionality? Failing that, where would I best look to for code examples if I wanted to implement it myself?

Sorry, I mean tab completion of path names. In IRB (with completion enabled) you e.g. type 'Dir.ent<tab>' and get 'Dir.entries'. But if you type 'Dir.entries "/usr/sh<tab>', the path name will not be completed. I'm wondering if there's a way to get tab completion for path names as well as method and object names.
