Question External Directory As Classpath in eclipse

Hi,
I have just migrated to eclipse from JCreator. In JCreator i had the possibility to add an external directory as my classpath such that i did not need to create a jar or zip file. I was wondering if this could be done in eclipse?

You can add either jar files or class directories by project by:

Project -> Properties -> Java Build Path (Library tab)

Select 'Add Class Folder' to add a folder where it will look for class files or you can also add .jar files.

Thanks for your answer but the problem is that when i select this Add Class Folder option it does not let me choose a folder outside my workspace and the folders i am using are outside the workspace.

Using the 'Add External Jars' option would require a jar file.

I am using eclipse 3.1.2(Just downloaded). Why is there a version that allows the selection of an external folder? I discovered eclipse when i installed fedora core 5 on my machine at home, so i decided to get one for windows instead of using JCreator

No, I thought I saw a difference between the 3.0 version that I have at home and the 3.1 at work, but they do behave the same.

If it's external then you'll have to either add them to a .jar file or add the project to eclipse.
