Angry Embedded Python, Library location using Autoconf?

Hi all,

I''m working on a project which uses embedded Python for scripting.
Up till now I've been compiling with a manually built makefile.

The Python linking bit being a bit like this:
gcc -o myapp myapp.c -I/usr/include/python2.4/ /usr/lib/python2.4/config/libpython2.4.a

No problems there.

However I've now started implementing autoconf & automake,
I've got it setup mostly, except for Python, I can't find any info on how best to locate the librarys using autoconf...

Obviously just checking for /usr/lib/python2.4/config/libpython2.4.a is not adequate as users may have it installed elsewhere or even have a newer version..

Thanks !
