Emacs install, noobhelp plz!
i have the following links:
http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html and the mirror: ftp://ftp.stacken.kth.se/pub/gnu/ what do i need to download exactly? i mean there is a huge directory with directories and files. i want to use it for Lisp mainly but really any language. |
What are you actually after? The Emacs editor, a lisp interpreter or the GNU operating system?
If it's one of the first two then I'd ask what Linux distribution (if any) you're presently using? As a self proclaimed noob you'd be much better off downloading your distributions pre-compiled package. So; what do you want to install and what do you want to install it on? |
