dynamic index?

I'm using SSI to include files in my different web-pages

ex. I've got a footer.txt I include on all my different web-pages

I wondering how I can include different files on the same web-page...

ex. in my index.htm I've got SSI footer.txt and I would like to when somebody clicks an link to change footer.txt with footer2.txt

Since SSI is a serverside-script I can't get it to do that, and I belive I need a cgi or php script to get it working - but how?

I want only one web-page on my site, and when somebody click on a link the web-page changes....

ex. On index.html they click on index.html?links, and index.html chang into a linkpage (but still beeing index.html).

Dynamic content on a part static web-page...

Does anyone understand what I'm looking for?

Can anyone help me on the way? I've been surfing scripts-pages all week, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for....

Any tutorials or guides?

I don't quite understand why would you want such a behavior...

But, I saw something in Apache like url rewriting (don't know the details - but from what I remember you could use is to make the websever respond with the page index_html_links.html when he sees index.html?links).

If you want to use php maybe you should read : http://php.mirrors.ilisys.com.au/manual/en/ref.url.php (didn't read it very carefully but it seems it is what you need.

The Apache module is mod_rewrite: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_rewrite.html
