drag and drop

Hello guys:

Just wondering if you have any suggestions. I have two web pages. Page 1 has on text area. Page 2 has a bunch of links.

I can code on page 1 but not on page 2. I want to drag a link from page 2 into the text area of page 1. When I drop it into the text area, I'd like to have the name of the link in this text area.

So if I keep the drag and drop, I would have a list of links on Page 1.

Is that possible at all?

Greetings

Poeta

By the name of the link I think you mean the text that represents the link. Like the name would be "This Link" in this example: "This Link"

It should be possible to parse the source of Page 2 and trim out the text that represents the links using php but this can be used to parse the entire file and not just a user selected link.

JavaScript can be used for drag drop ability but I believe you'll need to change the code on Page 2 as well for this to work.

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. You should look into JavaScript drag drop, I think you can do this without coding on Page 2.

Not sure, I'm no guru, but it looks possible to me (before I thought the drag and drop methods would be placed on two different objects, as in the drag item and the drop target, but when I looked into it some more I saw somewhere that it wasn't so).

Try it, or maybe someone else can tell us if this is really possible or not.

Sure I'm working on it, actually a quite different approach, by injecting javascript into the page 2

I'll let you know if I succeed
